Microneedling inflicts controlled and painless damage to skin that triggers its natural repair and healing processes. We begin by applying a numbing cream to your skin. Next, a small, pen-like instrument is used to produce dozens of miniscule channels in your skin, much like soil aeration. This initial stage creates injuries that set off a cascade of skin repair.
What Conditions Respond To Microneedling?
- Surgical scarring
- Mild to moderate acne scars
- Stretch marks
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Keloid scars
- Skin texture and pore size
The first step is cleaning your skin and applying a topical numbing agent. The procedure also involves the use of hyaluronic acid, or HA. HA attracts many times its own weight in water, promoting a noticeably increased volume in the skin. A small handheld device covered with 12 tiny, sterile needles pierces the skin. The needles pierce the skin and allow the hyaluronic acid to move underneath. The hyaluronic acid speeds healing and hydrates your skin.
Some temporary skin inflammation can be expected, which should fade noticeably in hours. The skin will gradually fade from red to pink within two days. Applying hyaluronic acid following your procedure is recommended to reduce any visible redness. We also recommend you protect your skin using a zinc-based sunblock. Following the procedure, mineral makeup can be used.
