When people think of Halloween, they automatically think of trick-or-treating which is a classic “must-do” festivity. But have you tried any of these other family friendly Halloween activities?
Pumpkin Picking
Pumpkin picking is also a classic fall activity, but nowadays people often just get their pumpkins from the local grocery store. If you haven’t already gotten your pumpkin already, go old school and head over to a real life pumpkin patch where there’s a perfect pumpkin for everyone. Afterwards, don’t forget carve it!
Home Made Halloween Treats
The variety candy packs at the grocery store are tempting, but try making some home made sweet treats this year. From simply decorating Halloween themed cookies to going all out and trying the latest recipe you found on Pinterest, cooking up some home made treats are bound to be fun for the whole family.
“Spook” Your Neighbors
“Spooking” your neighbors has been around for quite some time, but not as long as pumpkin picking or trick-or-treating. Plus, it gets the whole neighborhood involved! It a simple game. You put together a goodie basket and leave it on one of your neighbor’s front door. Leave a note telling them they have been “spooked” and direct them to do the same. And then the guessing game of who “spooked’ who begins.
Corn Maze
Corn mazes are generally more family friendly as opposed to haunted houses, but if you have young ones, keep in mind there are haunted corn mazes as well. Use your own judgement, but corn mazes are great for the whole family and involve a bit of thinking too!
